Each year, the Avant Première Music + Media Market Berlin attracts around 600 industry representatives from 330 organisations from almost 40 countries. In 2021, Avant Première Music + Media Market took place exclusively online for the first time with a second web edition in 2022. The 2023 Avant Première is slated to return to Berlin from 18-22 February.
Around 29% of Avant Première Participants are content buyers, and more than a quarter are distributors, labels and rights holders. Out of all buyers, 35% represent major broadcasters, 27% are streaming + VOD platforms, with the rest coming from the event cinema + festival sectors as well as funding bodies.
The creators of music + dance films are well represented: 19% of participants come from film production companies and 8% from performing arts institutions. 8% of participants are technology providers, while NPOs, educational institutions and journalists comprise the rest.
